Still Life Nest With Egg Painting

Using a model egg and nest, I interpreted the rest of the painting with my imagination

Here is a time lapse video I made showing the entire process of my painting. It took 5 hours to complete and I am overall happy the colour palette and shapes of the pieces. This painting shows an egg rotting in the centre of a nest and its entrails pouring through the nest. This causes a plant to grow underneath the nest from the nutrients. I wanted to depict the cycle of plant, decay and then growth. I think this piece could have been approved by adding more layers of tones and shading making the piece more 3-dimensional.
