Pyrography Tree Roots

Using a pyrography machine to illustrate my own tree and roots

Pyrography on paper - 2016

"...although we only see the top half of the tree, it doesn’t make the roots any less important."

Here is a pyrography piece I created inspired by the organic form of a tree and its roots. I made the roots of the tree bigger and thicker than the actual tree. This was to show that although we only see the top half of the tree, it doesn’t make the roots any less important. Without roots tree’s would not be able to support itself while its growing or in harsh weather. Nutrients and minerals are also absorbed through the ends of the roots of the tree of which without would not allow the tree to develop.
